Savor the cuteness with MMOSS, The Snow Leopards, Drugs Delaney, Deerhunter, Dr. Dog, The Teeth, Hoots & Hellmouth, Pela, Bishop Allen, The Icicles, The Smittens, The Willowz, Township live at the BCN Rock N’ Roll Rumble, Mittens, and Hands & Knees.
Normally a 3-piece, today they brought a sax and a mandolin. Classy, classic tunes that range from sounding like Elvis Costello to Van Morrison to Thin Lizzy to John Prine. If that doesn’t sound good to you, I don’t know what to say.

It’s a little hard to describe these guys. I guess the best we can do is “glam with soul”. Which clearly isn’t right for a band that covers the VU so well. I can’t do it justice, so give it a listen and come up with your own inappropriate pigeonhole.

This week brings some more excellent shows, and a total meltdown of our recording program. Featuring Peeping Tom, Windy Smiles, Paleo, These United States, Hammarsing, The Subjects, Wonderful Spells, Eee Adams from Rock City Crimewave, two songs from The Dead Trees, The Whiskey Giants, Mittens, Tulsa, and we would have played Jason Isbell and The Remote Islands, but, you know, our recording program kind of, well, melted down.
Ara Vora were a blast to have in - great tunes, great guys. They’re at Zuzu this Monday. Now that’s how you start a week right!

Yoni (and his band, The Goods) is/are playing twice this week - Friday at the Cambridge Elks, and Sunday at The Abbey. He’s got a voice and style that’s a little tough to capture with the measley microphones that are currently known to man, so go see him live.
