Yet another band proving that Philly’s got some damn good bands. We’ve been holding on to this one for far too long. Let us unleash it in all its glory. They play on Saturday the 22nd at PA’s Lounge, on a damn-skippy lineup that we’ll be partaking in.

For those of you who don’t know, Viva Viva rose from the ashes of several great Boston bands, including Officer May, The Beat Awfuls, and The Lot Six. They played the last live rock set at Zuzu. And this is exactly what it sounded like. AND! They’re playing tonight at PA’s! Go go go go go!

We had Tommy and Sarah in when Drug Rug was just a fledgling chick. (Listen here.) They have since made us oh so proud by putting together one of the best damn bands in Boston - in this incarnation, featuring Carter from Tulsa as well as Mike and Noah from The Dead Trees. They have thier CD release party this Friday at PA’s Lounge, along with a truly killer lineup. Go ahead and look who. Nah, never mind, just go!

I think this was the fastest turnaround we’ve pulled off. The Resurrectionists came in 5 days ago, and somehow we managed to mix it down and get it out there. I think you’ll be quite happy with the results. They’re playing this Friday, the 14th, at The Midway Cafe in JP. So be there!

Mike Cummings from The Dead Trees stopped in just before hitting the road with his band to open up for Albert Hammond Jr. (from The Strokes). If you missed that, you totally blew it. Luckily, you’ve got a second chance right now. Oh, and featuring the keyboard stylings of Andy. Sure, it’s only one note, but that’s going on the resume.

Our first California band, The Willowz have 3 smokin’ albums (and several EPs and 7″s) - the latest of which is entitled Chautauqua, and features most of the tunes featured here. As far as they can recall, they’ve never stripped it down like this before, so you’re all in for a treat!
