In our first attempt to post video, Kid:Nap:Kin showed us their quiet side. Who knew!? Their CD release party is this Thursday at TT’s.
Who’s playing this week. We listen to almost every band playing and pick our favorites. Hopefully you agree.
The Flophouse Sessions 100 - The Half Nelsons

Wow, episode 100. That’s a lot.
OK, enough fanfare.
The Half Nelsons came in about a year ago, totally rocked the mini-kit, and promptly broke up mere weeks later. So here’s a posthumous release to let you know what you missed. I’m sure we’ll be hearing some great new projects from these talented chaps. Also, their pure rockitude resulted in a warp of the time-space continuum, pictured above.
The Flophouse Sessions 99 - Audrey Ryan

Audrey does more for Boston music than just about any other musician out there. She came in with James Borchers and showed us what she’s got.
Song List:
- Make Dead
- Nostalgia
- Get Down and Die
- People
- No Difference
- Holden
The Flophouse Sessions 98 - The Fanged Robot

Robby Catholic, AKA The Fanged Robot, really knows his way around a guitar. He’s playing as part of These United States this Tuesday at PA’s Lounge. Be sure to buy whatever solo CDs he might have - this is why.
Song List:
- Sunday Song (Paleo cover)
- El Chupacabra
- The Shape I’m In
- Kickin’ Knee High
- Electricity in the Mountains
- 100 Creatures
The Flophouse Sessions 97 - Aberdeen City

Every once in a while, we have a band in that makes me want to greatly expand my limited knowledge of recording and mixing. Aberdeen City is just that kind of band. I tried some new techniques out, and dammit, I think it worked out well. It always helps when you have an awesome bunch of songs to start with. They play tonight at the Middle East!
Song List:
- Whose Blood is It?
- Thousands and Thousands
- Pretty Pet
- Mercy
Band in Boston 65 - Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse

No realy meaning to the title this week. Just been a good few days. So it was that or mention this godforsaken weather. Yeah, let’s not do that. Featuring The Self Righteous Brothers, Albumen, Murder by Death, The Spanish Armada, New Radiant Storm King, These United States, The Duke Spirit, and Hymns.
